Determined Attempt
This sketch is one among my best creations. It took around 1.5 hrs, 40 minutes before world-cup finals and 50 minutes on the next day.
The error margin is not up to 6-sigma, but the Image retains its Identity.
This was a well planned attempt to portray Nj, and upto some extent I was successful.
One Special thing, I noticed while sketching was the serendipity with which the resemblance came into the portrait. All of a sudden, the sketch started looking like Nj, which happened after 1 hr of diligence.

Girl with Barbie Dress
On the third day of our stay at Shinagawa Prince Hotel, Tokyo, we decided to explore the electronics market of Tokyo, famed as Akhiabara. After devouring Navratan Korma and Naan at Devi India, we took the subway to Akhiabara from Shinagawa, which was priced Y190 equivalent to Rs.108 for just 5-6kms.
Outside the station, the scene was so bright as if sun was still lying in the firmament at night. Shops were like florescent cubes inside the buildings. Huge crowd was busy buying or experimenting with the samples displayed at the shop. This was my first time, when I used an i-pad, which was on display at almost every shop.
Price of electronic products at Akhiabara was little bit less than India, but they were on less warranty. Brands like Sharp (for television) and Buffalo (for Computer Accessories) was very popular among Japanese people. They were the leaders in Japan but lack their market in India. I was duly impressed by the brands and the variety of products in the market. Sofmap was a chain of electronic shop; each unit was of 7-8 floors distributed all over the Akhiabara Market.
Among the crowd, few angels like girls were distributing pamphlets. They were looking similar to Barbie wearing pink frock as their apparel. Those cute creatures were used to hopping and producing a sweet sound while dispersing the pamphlet. The pamphlets were all different, totally in Japanese except numbers which was arranged in a manner showing few rates, all in 4-5 figures.
I scrutinized one of the girls, gazed into her eyes. There I saw an ocean of tears and disappointments which was held by a dam, built from her expectations and hope. A mood of melancholy was persistent on her face but she was busy smiling in the hope and doing her job.
Few scratches were on her thighs as some portion was visible under the frock. She understood my penchant in exploring her as she gave me a look asking for some help. Due to the paucity of time, I had to quit exploring her without even flipping a card of the deck. But, she created an interest in me about herself. There, I had to close the chapter of the book, devoid from any hope of re-surfing into these pages.
Sunday 13th, 2010, fifth day of our Jenesys Program was basically a sight-seeing day. We went to Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), Kodaiyuzen (Yuzen Meseum) and Nijo Castle with four Japanese students Ayaka, Suzuka, Sae and Shun. Akaka Naito, a blond girl was quite extrovert and garrulous. Being a student of foreign relations, she had a trip to India last year. I and Siddharth made her as our guide of this historical exploration.
During the trip I asked Naito about the girls we saw in Akhiabara. She gave me a n exotic look and after a hiatus said, “they are the girls waiting for someone from other world to come and took them with themselves.” Her answer was rather more exotic than the look she gave to me earlier. I gave her a satisfied glimpse but internally, was trying to figure an answer from her enigmatic sentence.
I tried to decipher a bit, but ended into blowing some fuses as a result of short-circuit from the confusion she created in my mind.
I am still in a search for the meaning, as if hunting in a forest which has been eroded from any living forms.
If you can figure anything from her declaration then do post a comment.

My First Attempt
It all started, when I saw a Stabilo fineliner in the hands of Arpit Sir. I showed my lust for the pen and finally he had to offer me that. Then asked him for few A-4 sheets and finally prepared my self for a sketch making during my Internship @ Hella.
This sketch is my first attempt to portray Nj from the only pic I have of her. It is from a group photograph consisting of all the girls in IT group of Jenesys Program.
I completed this sketch in less than 5 minutes but later, unable to find the similarities.

Spinach - in the taste of mango
what matters to me the most? Is it brain, Is it beauty or Is it style? My mind fancies an image whenever it finds someone of my age having the above three qualities.
Approximately once in every week I queue up my memory with an image of a new girl. Then, counting the weeks between the time I got interested in counter creation of God till date, I had placed around 260 girls in my mind. Few of them are affecting other parts of my mind, but its ok as drinks does the same. Every memory in there is because of some reason, which falls under the three categorical qualities brain, beauty and style.
I never knew that someday I would be meeting a fabulous girl having all the qualities that I am in hunt for. She will be the compendium of the entire thing I was excited about. She was the one I never thought of meeting one day. Now, without over exaggerating I must say that I liked her.
Crushed by the intellect she had shown to other but reflected on to me. Transfixed by the natural imagery she used to carry with herself and wounded by the Cupid’s arrow she fired on me with the bow of her looks.
Initially, negativity flowed inside me through each artery and then to the lymph. I started questioning myself for the efforts that I didn’t put into my studies at the time when it was required the most. I was unhappy at the place where happiness was flowing heavily in the air. All my friends were satisfied with what they achieved to be a part of dream college tour. But among them I was like a floating rock in ocean, not satisfied with what I achieved but tensed because my place was not there. My place was near a hill, to breathe the chill and to dress myself with the attires of milky white and feathery snow.
Realization popped in me and then I realized what I should be doing from the moment onwards.
I still remember the last line of my fav. Poem If - Rudyard Kipling that
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!
Without loosing the theme, I want to say that this girl was like a fairy to me. Showed herself to me for a couple of days and went away to ......
I got some inspiration of rejuvenating my self and to be the one who are surrounded by fairies on the basis of their greatness.
In the above lines, I have not mentioned about the allotted part of my memory to the one I will be in love with, rather I categorized it just into three divisions.
The reason is that, the space, which our love will take into our brain, is negligible to what she will take into our heart. She makes our heart as her second home and one day she becomes the owner of it.

Safar-The beginning

Day-1
A day before, I made my hair cut and shaved twice for the first time in history to pack and polish myself for the tour ahead,” The Japan Tour.” This tour in my eyes was for sparkling few gems of memorable experience with the shower of happiness. And among them, few were neophytes like my first flight, first visa on my brand new passport and a 11-day consecutive ‘stay’ at 5-star hotel. Visit is not an appropriate word over here coz, i had been once to Park for Lunch, which is a famous 5star hotel in Kolkata.
I was picked by Shruti to the airport. After reaching, i with my luggage and Shruti came to the entrance. Three MaPoSe Jawan demanded ticket copy from us. I showed them mine. After two minutes of Goggling he asked my name,”Kya naam hai aapka”. Then he said “ticket mein naam kahaan likha hai.” Then I realised why he was searching something into my ticket copy.
I showed him my name in the copy, which was there next to the ticket number. He said,” naam likne se pehle name nahi likha hai, hum kaise pataa kare ge .“.Then after a breath he said again,”bolo main sahi bol raha hu na.” I said, “haan ji” and gave him a look of approval and arrived inside the airport.
There I went through every necessary check and finally got my boarding pass. The gate number as well as my seat number was 5B. The concept of gate 5B is extremely hilarious. The gate their had two panel. For more specialization they have named one panel A and another one B. They used to open only one panel of a gate for a time and announce like “boarding for Kingfisher flight no. XYZ has started, kindly reach Gate no. 5B.”
Our flight was damm 2 hrs late. There I realized that this problem not only resides in Indian railways but, it has few more homes and Domestic airlines was one among them. Kingfisher airlines - my first flight was 2 hrs late.
We made our self-comfortable and started a discussion on a topic “ Future of our batch mates ”.
Amid our discussion, a family came for a seat beside me, husband, his wife and me with five small children.
The No. 5 was too much into my life that day. Till now, I have mentioned it 3 times and
truly speaking, I thought that the eldest child of the family was not more than 5 year. Whole family members were going to Indore.
Shouting of kids gathered our attention then what I saw was unforgettable.
Mother of the 5 kids was pouring the content of a gutka kind sachet into her children in order to calm them. I looked at them nonplussed. Their Mother was in tees and jeans having no brand label on it and surely she was thinking herself to be like Zeenat Aman. Her husband was looking uncultured but confident about the money they were possessing.
Then my eyes went to the long thread of gutka type packs, twice a dozen packs were attached with each other, and their mother were distributing one or two among their children. Most importantly the parents were also enjoying the taste that the sachet contained. Both of them were chewing that stuff and accentuating in a tone like Amitabh Bachan produced after eating paan banarsi in the movie called “DON”. At that moment, I was filled with the tsunami of pride that my family, not as rich as them but have given me sets of discipline and memories, that guides my conduct, that defines my class.
I was irritated as they were throwing the wrappers here and there, despite the distance of use-bin being in inches.
I kept my self-busy and started our old topic of endless conversation.
After they went I saw the condition of the seats. It was as if I have entered Gaurav’s room.
Finally two added hours of waiting came to an end. And we started our journey, The Journey to Japan.
But, before boarding I checked the packs. In English it was written ”Kashmiri meetha”. The wrapper was empty so I was unable to gather an informative view of the material inside.
If any body has ever tasted that stuff, Please let me know what stuff is that all about.
